Landing the Job - What you want to do? Think about your track and how it speaks to you in some way:
- selling the treatment 'love letter to the artist', covers everything you will do and why you are going to do it
- convince people what's in your head is achievable
- storyboards, still images that show your idea
- make a connection with the artist
- if you don't have the money for what you want to do, think of another way you can do it
- keeping things simple and make it work
- if you have failed to hook them in the first 2-3 pages it wouldn't be the correct video
Jolene and the Jing Jang Jong:
- simple effects
- simple props
- low budgeted
- someone running/walking through a building
- single move
- the track is 2.22 mins long - if you are on a low budget keep the time shorter.
The Chemical Brothers:
- The treatment 'ballet dancer turns into a robot'
- A lot of technical work needed in order for this to work
- All together there were 7200 frames
- Having a constant reference to the dancers body and what she is doing - witness cameras
- Ease her body throughout
- They scan the body then track the 3D model over her movements
- They used cloth stimulation with her clothes
- This took 4½ months to complete
- Did not worry about the budget it was more about the quality of the work they were making.
